VP of Sales

Synergy Associates is seeking a VP of Sales to manage a high performing sales team while taking overall accountability for sales targets, sales growth, and customer satisfaction to Authorized Resellers in U.S., Canada, Mexico and Latin America. The VP of Sales is a full time position with an OTE of $350,000 annually. As a Tier-1 US distributor of HPE and Dell Enterprise level technology featuring Servers, Networking and Storage product lines; Synergy is committed to assisting the reseller partners select, configure and deliver the industry’s best solutions from its distribution facility in Minnesota. As the VP of Sales, you will lead cross-functionally to target prospects, win deals, and manage channel sales with exceptional leadership.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on thought leadership and use market insight, customer understanding, problem solving, and top-notch deal making skills to meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Strategically target new clients as well as identifying opportunities to develop new business with existing customers.
  • Oversee all aspects of deal flow; leads, marketing, activities, opportunities, order management, and fulfillment.
  • Lead revenue goal setting and aggressive strategic growth initiatives for sales team.
  • Develop sales and improvement strategies based on market research and competitor analyses.
  • Work closely and cross-functionally to ensure resources are fully engaged and utilized in support of driving revenue and generating pipeline.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of OEM product lines and industry.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies that ensure the company exceeds revenue and profitability goals.
  • Engage and optimize overall sales motions. Create comprehensive sales plans to drive revenue growth.
  • Drive growth by leveraging industry knowledge, experience, and connections with customers.
  • Provide insight into customer needs and the competitive landscape; providing alternatives to satisfy customer needs while utilizing inventory.
  • Coordinate with sales team in effectively negotiating and closing orders.
  • Participate in industry tradeshows with sales team as needed at conferences and events to enhance Synergy’s visibility and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Represent Synergy at events, both in country and internationally as needed.
  • Coach and demonstrate skills in collaboration, problem solving, communication, attitude, process, organization, and consistency.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the sales, business development, support, operations, technical, and marketing teams fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics; including revenue, pipeline, and opportunities. Regularly review progress against sales targets and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide coaching and mentorship, and drive professional development initiatives.
  • Establish one on ones, team meetings, and set clear expectations to create a transparent and accountable team culture.
  • Encourage and promote effective interdepartmental communication.
  • Oversee and maintain the SAP order database ensuring accuracy and integrity; activities, opportunities, leads, quotes, purchase orders, order fulfillment, invoices, and reporting data with efficient use of all SAP functionalities.
  • Effective and timely reports along with communication to executive management and Synergy board.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 10+ years sales leadership experience with an established track record of leading and influencing large multi-level teams.
  • Technical background and knowledge of OEM product lines preferred.
  • Organized with Microsoft Office competency. SAP B1 HANA is a plus.
  • Proven ability to build, mentor, coach, and lead sales teams focused on accelerating revenue growth.
  • Strong communication skills and good networking capabilities.
  • Motivated self-starter, team player able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exhibits good interpersonal skills; collaborates with others and maintains composure when faced with difficult situations.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing sales and operations teams.
  • Experience in defining strategies for utilizing analytics and data to drive results.
  • Depth of understanding of P&L metrics for marketing campaign projects.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, and extensive experience developing and presenting business analyses.
  • Ability to drive and manage pipeline and related metrics.
  • Excellent time management, problem solving, and negotiating skills.
  • Expertise in presenting to senior and executive leaders.
  • Experience with United States and international markets preferred; Canada and LATAM markets are a plus.
