Orion Solutions Group has teamed up with a leading asset-based multimodal logistics provider and we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President of Sales to lead our sales efforts in either the Midwest or Southeast regions. As a key member of our executive sales team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth by selling our comprehensive range of port and rail container drayage, dedicated truckload services, coastal transloading, warehousing, and distribution solutions. This is an individual contributor, front line sales position.
Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to identify and target potential clients within the assigned regions. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers and nurture long-term relationships with existing clients.
- Industry Expertise: Demonstrate a deep understanding of the logistics and supply chain industry, especially in the areas of port and rail container drayage, dedicated truckload services, coastal transloading, and warehousing solutions. Leverage your extensive industry network to generate new business opportunities.
- Solutions-Based Selling: Take a consultative and solutions-based approach to selling, understanding each customer's unique requirements, and offering tailored logistics solutions to meet their needs effectively.
- Revenue Generation: Drive revenue growth and meet or exceed sales targets by expanding our customer base, securing long-term contracts, and fostering strong customer relationships that result in repeat business.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with our operations, customer service, and executive teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction. Act as a liaison between sales and operations, fostering a culture of teamwork and alignment.
- Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscape to identify potential areas for growth and innovation.
- Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to keep the executive team informed of progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success as a senior sales executive with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the logistics industry, focusing on port and rail container drayage, dedicated truckload services, and related solutions.
- Industry Network: Extensive network and established relationships within the logistics and supply chain industry, particularly with BCOs, forwarders, and key decision-makers.
- Solutions-Based Selling Skills: Ability to understand customer pain points and provide value-added solutions, positioning our company as a strategic partner in their logistics operations.
- Communication and Negotiation: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate contracts effectively.
- Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities to identify market opportunities and devise effective sales strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
