Build a world class commercial team from the ground up in partnership with the CEO.
You’re going to be a key member of the business as it grows from a handful of people to over two hundred in the next year, off the back of tens of millions of dollars in investment. You’ll be coming into a business with a strong initial product and some initial clients on board. It’s a perfect foundation to grow in every single area you’ll own.
As you’ll know, your focus will be around executing the overall strategic plan of the business. You’ll be a key member of the executive team developing various strategies to launch operations, meet revenue targets, manage sales channels, and look into as many opportunities as possible to drive overall growth of the business.
You’ll be working in partnership with various teams – from Sales to Business Operations, to Channel Managers. You’ll be heavily involved with the hiring of these leaders and their subsequent teams, so you’ll need put in place robust hiring strategies and create a strong growth mentality across the commercial team.
You’ll be based in Dallas. Relocation packages can be provided if necessary if you feel a new life in Dallas would be of interest. Along with providing the present and future commercial strategy, you’ll be part of the team defining and embedding the culture of the business.
Another key part of your initial role will be to identify, assess and decide upon the right CRM tool to be successful. Once decided, you’ll own the implementation of this. You’ll need to create a scalable set of processes to ensure that the team are able to be successful regardless of what stage the business is at.
In terms of your experience, you’ll need to have plenty of experience in a commercial leadership position in a high-tech, SaaS or cloud-based organisation. It’s essential you understand technology and how things work from a commercial point of view in a technology focused business. You also need to have demonstrable experience of sales skills in a complex deal environment – how to structure, negotiate and close – with new and existing clients.
Experience with multiple CRMs would be a huge plus, as would completing any selection and implementation process of a new CRM.
As mentioned, this is a start-up environment, so to begin with you’ll be relying on your salary, plus bonus. Starting salary will be up to $400,000. All early-stage roles will begin on-site to create the culture and share ideas at speed.
