This is an accelerated graduate program designed for high potential, highly-mobile, and candidates with strong interest in the automotive industry, including automotive finance. The selected individual will rotate through three placements over an exciting 18 month period. This program is not a shadow experience and individuals will be exposed to hands on training in all aspects of the business.
Role Summary
The grad analyst will be primarily responsible for analysis and reporting through many of VW’s key tools including Business Objects, SAP Analytics, Tableau, Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint. They’ll be working on a combination of process improvement initiatives, monthly standard operating procedures, and ad hoc analysis.
Role Responsibilities
Complex Data Gathering & Analysis - 50%
- Candidate will use a variety of data gathering tools and sources to be able to assess current and future market conditions, segment performance, VW's performance across the portfolio, and ad hoc analysis as it arises
Presentation Development & Delivery - 30%
- Candidate will develop PowerPoint presentations using a variety of data sources to outline and present cohesive analysis and recommendations
Reporting & Process Improvement - 20%
- Candidate will participate in continuous process improvement initiatives within the Sales Operations team, and will also be a key contributor to various sales-related reports and presentations on both a recurring and ad hoc basis
Rotation 1
The grad analyst will be responsible for complex data gathering and analytics across the industry, automotive segment trends, and Volkswagen performance. The candidate will use that analysis to develop and present findings and recommendations to drive toward a market-driven mix to deliver on both profitability and sales volume targets.
Rotation 2
The grad analyst will be responsible in assisting with production allocation and vehicle ordering to the regions / dealer network. This includes generating orders based on planned mixes, order management, Market Based Ordering (MBO), and Factory Suggested Ordering (FSO) allocation. They’ll also be responsible for activities pertaining to launch, report management, and wholesale attainment.
Rotation 3
The candidate will be working closely with the Incentives team to gain an understanding of the requirements needed to offer competitive incentives each month through Lease, APR, and Cash. They’ll conduct competitor analysis on other OEMs incentive offers. They’ll also be involved in the financial calculations needed to launch these programs and the reporting that comes with it. Finally, they’ll get exposed to the CPO side of the business with lease maturities as these vehicles make their way through auctions and subsequently into dealers/customers hands.
