Essential Job Duties
- Develop and implement effective business strategies: Create and execute comprehensive business strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives. This includes identifying market opportunities, assessing competitive landscapes, and establishing strategies for maximizing retail store sales and profitability.
- Ensure efficient operations: Provide oversight and guidance to ensure the smooth operation of all retail stores. Monitor and evaluate store performance, implement operational best practices, and develop strategies to optimize productivity and efficiency.
- Budgeting and financial management: Prepare and manage budgets for the retail operations division. Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and take appropriate actions to ensure financial targets are met. Collaborate with the finance team to develop accurate sales forecasts and financial projections.
- Communication and collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration across the organization, both vertically and horizontally. Work closely with senior management, department heads, and store managers to ensure clear communication of objectives, strategies, and performance expectations.
- Performance monitoring and improvement: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the overall performance of the retail operations. Regularly assess KPIs, identify areas for improvement, and take necessary actions to enhance performance, sales, and customer satisfaction.
- Talent management: Provide leadership and guidance to the retail operations team, including recruitment, training, and development of staff. Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and collaboration.
- Strategic partnerships and vendor management: Identify and establish strategic partnerships with key suppliers, vendors, and service providers to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and availability of products and services. Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to maximize value and drive operational excellence.
- Compliance and risk management: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to retail operations. Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, safeguarding the company's reputation and assets.
- Continuous improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies in the retail sector. Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement, and implement changes to enhance the customer experience and drive business growth.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role overseeing in-home sales teams in a direct to consumer operations, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of creating and implementing successful business strategies that have resulted in increased sales and profitability.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- In-depth knowledge of direct to consumers operations, including in-home sales teams, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to changing market conditions and priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, retail management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
