New Eagle is a trusted engineering partner and supplier for electronic systems and control software across diverse sectors like automotive, transportation, defense, industrial, aviation, military, aerospace, and off-highway. Specializing in mechatronic controls, we assist engineering developers in managing project development, supply chain, costs, and outcomes, streamlining operations using custom software and off-the-shelf hardware control solutions. Our versatile engineering teams excel in creating electronic systems for the evolving electronic vehicle propulsion and autonomy markets, guiding projects from concept to production.

This newly-created role will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and will drive the execution of the company sales strategy at the highest levels. This is a management position with direct reports.

Location: On-site/Hybrid in Ann Arbor, MI - flexible schedule M-F

Travel: 25%+

Compensation: Strong Base + OTE/commission plan

Key Areas of Responsibility

Strategic Planning

  • Design strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and revenue targets
  • Identify new business opportunities and market trends to capitalize on growth potential
  • Analyze sales data and market insights to formulate effective sales strategies

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales professionals to achieve individual and team targets
  • Provide ongoing training and development to enhance the skills and performance of the sales team
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven sales culture within the organization

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's customer base
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry influencers
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with prospective clients to secure new business partnerships

Key Account Management

  • Oversee the management of key client accounts, including identifying growth opportunities, resolving issues, and ensuring exceptional service delivery
  • Develop and own key account strategies using consistent methodology

Inside Sales

  • Oversee inside sales operations, including lead generation, prospecting, and customer engagement
  • Implement effective sales processes and tools to optimize the inside sales workflow
  • Monitor inside sales performance metrics and KPIs to track progress and identify areas for improvement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related field; MBA is a plus
  • Proven experience in business development and sales, with a track record of driving business growth and exceeding sales targets
  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to analyze market data and trends to develop effective sales strategies
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team to achieve results
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in business development, key account management, and inside sales operations
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions
  • Candidates with experience in selling premium software and applications, such as simulation, multi-physics modeling, control systems are highly preferred.
