As the VP of Sales, you will lead our sales team, develop strategic initiatives, and foster relationships with key clients to ensure the success of our portfolio companies. VP of Sales, Responsibilities:

Strategic Sales Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and facilitate business growth
  • Implement innovative approaches to optimize sales processes and maximize efficiency

Team Management

  • Hire, lead and mentor the sales team, providing coaching, guidance, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performance culture
  • Set clear objectives and KPIs for the team, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives

Client Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction and retention
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic insights and solutions to address their challenges

Market Expansion

  • Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities to expand our customer base and drive revenue growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop targeted strategies for penetrating new markets and industries

Alignment With Company Objectives

  • Collaborate closely with marketing and product teams to align sales strategies with overall company objectives and product offerings
  • Ensure seamless communication and coordination between sales, marketing, and product development teams
  • Performance Analysis and Reporting:
  • Track sales metrics, analyze data, and prepare regular reports for senior management, providing insights into sales performance and trends
  • Utilize data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous sales optimization

Industry Engagement

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand professional networks and stay informed about market dynamics

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of at least 15 years of progressive sales experience, with a minimum of 5 years in B2B SaaS sales, ideally in a leadership capacity such as VP of Sales or similar
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and consistently exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate sales teams to achieve and surpass objectives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to effectively convey complex concepts and build rapport with internal teams and external clients
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing strategic solutions to drive client satisfaction and retention
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in leveraging data and sales analytics tools for strategic decision-making and performance optimization
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the technology industry or proven success working with startups, particularly in B2B SaaS environments
  • Knowledge of the venture capital industry, including familiarity with funding cycles and investor relations, to effectively navigate the startup ecosystem
  • Previous experience with CRM software and sales analytics tools, enabling efficient management of sales pipelines and data-driven decision-making
  • Advanced degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field, such as a Master's degree, providing additional depth of knowledge and strategic insight into sales operations and management
