Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Exchange Sales, the Sales Operations Lead is responsible for day-to-day sales operations and agent support including administration of agent onboarding & compensation. The Sales Operations Lead performs a critical leadership role in the administration and expansion of our sales distribution network, including Field Marketing Organization (FMO) management, independent agent and agency onboarding, administration and management and directly supervising the performance and compensation of our telesales vendor.

The Sales Operations Lead will be the main interface with all sales and distribution partners, and internal enterprise functions such as Finance, Information Services (IS), Legal and Sourcing. The Sales Operations Lead will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring SLAs around key performance indicators such as leads generated, cost per lead, closing ratio and cost per sale.

The Sales Operations Lead will own the agent appointment, agent compliance and sales commission payment processes, in conjunction with other areas of the enterprise, under the direction and supervision of the Manager of Exchange Sales.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

Establish and maintain an onboarding processes for new field marketing organizations (FMOs), insurance agencies and Exchange sales agents and coordinate with vendors to manage this process.
Develop and implement governance processes directing the management of sales agent and agency relationships for the purpose of sales support and membership growth.
Manage day to day operation and performance of licensed agent telesales vendor from a performance management and metrics perspective with current telesales scope consisting of approximately 40 agents.
Responsible for the creation of materials for sales agent use and update materials annually. Examples include product information, agent training materials, competitor profiles and compensation items.
Responsible for creating key performance metric sales reports, commission and ad hoc reports. Such reports consist of agent performance statistics, commissions paid, conversion rate analysis, etc.
Lead service and support for all agent sales activity, working with internal partners to resolve member and sales agent concerns.
System Administrator role for Softhon Enhanced Direct Enrollment (EDE) SaaS Platform which is the single source of prospect and agent product enrollment, CMS systems integration and premium payment processing and reconciliation.
Serve as the point of contact for agent inquiries and request through voice mail and/or sales agent email box and responsible for ensuring timely issues resolution.
Manage the development, measurement and monitoring of all levels of sales agent relationships which could include several FMOs, Several hundred individual agents and 50-100 telesales agents.
Order bulk supplies, marketing materials and promotional items and ensure adequate supply to support conferences, training and other events.
Maintain familiarity and understanding of all aspects of AHIP Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM) training.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree.
Understanding and experience with the ACA/Marketplace program.
Health insurance sales or sales support experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of agent channel management pertaining to health care products.
Strong organizational and communication skills along with the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization.
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply the learning in a business environment. Ability to communicate business and financial analytics and reports across disciplines and to senior executives.
Detail oriented, ability to work in “gray areas” towards a solution.
State health insurance agent license preferred.
5-10 years Professional/ business experience. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in health insurance market preferably within the ACA/Marketplace.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry related software programs to include PowerPoint and Excel to include developing and manipulating spreadsheets, building pivot tables, etc.
