The goal of the Deal Desk is to build and develop procedures and processes that enable the company to improve the quality of deals and to maximize the revenue associated with the companyâs business. The ability to communicate and influence across all levels of the company is essential in ensuring the success of the role in the company.

The deal desk will ensure that the process, documentation, approvals and timeframes for submitting and reviewing deals are clear and followed. The deal desk will work with all stakeholders to ensure that processes are being followed and thus ensure the best outcome for the company. The Deal Desk Manager must manage the complexity across the entire Sales Flow of the company.

Review proposed contracts based on established guidelines (commercial terms, discount terms, etc.)
Provide parameters and tools for standard and non-standard deals
Forward approved deals to the correct channels (Legal, Finance, Marketing) for contract drafting
Hands-on role. Self-motivated and self-directed

Job Functions:

Manage all aspects of a deal desk within Sales Ops
Goals are to optimize bookings, revenue, profitability, and market share based on business priorities
Guide and support sales in deal structuring, deal approval and deal management while focusing on minimizing sales cycle times
Drive best practices to increase sales efficiency and effectiveness via deal reviews, early checkpoints and enforcement of standard business practices and policies
Review and quotes and forward to the correct channels for future action
Work with Legal and Finance on deal terms in context of the customer, market segment and strategic significance of the deal
Work with Sales Ops and Sales Leadership to formalize quote process

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Business or a related competency
5+ years of Deal Desk or Sales Ops experience
Self-motivated and able to work under pressure; diligent with deliverables and deadlines, able to multitask
Understanding of revenue recognition principles (preferred)
Excellent interpersonal skills â verbal and written
Exceptional analytical skills along with the ability to demonstrate practical judgment
Collaborative style with the ability to communicate clearly and articulate operational issues
