THE OPPORTUNITY

The VP of Development will report directly to the CEO and is responsible for building and leading a world class sales organization. The VP of Development will work cross functionally to develop and drive an end-to-end sales strategy for two of the three main revenue drivers of BLACE including exclusive venue management and non-exclusive venue referrals. The individual will connect directly with key decision-makers on a regular basis to secure social and corporate events with those wishing to leverage an efficient vendor and venue booking platform. Initially, the primary focus of this role will be to maximize the utilization of the exclusive portfolio of venues that the company operates on behalf of Real Estate developers.

Tasked with generating YOY revenue growth and managing the BLACE account management team + key clients on a day-to-day basis, the role will continue to grow in scope and include additional opportunities to help grow the business through both introducing the tenant amenity portal to existing real estate + space management companies and playing an integral role in the strategy + implementation of the expansion into a second market, Los Angeles.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the overall business relationship between key clients and BLACE
Enhance and optimize the current BLACE customer base by building and maintaining relationships with key decision makers for new business
Generate leads, drive revenue, lead contract negotiations, and work with stakeholders both internally and externally
Lead new business sales efforts for key BLACE segments, exclusive and non-exclusive partnerships.
Develop relationships with major production agencies, brands and corporate clients and develop their awareness of BLACE’s inventory
Leverage network, relationships, and cold outreach to identify potential new business
Make data-driven strategy decisions on how to maximize revenue growth

For exclusive properties segment:

Drive acquisition of additional exclusive spaces within existing real-estate partners portfolio
Drive Account Managers conversion rate of sales leads for exclusive properties
Set, meet, and exceed annual sales goals for each exclusive property and ensure each property is apprised of the success.
Influence/coordinate marketing efforts to maximize exposure/revenue
Acquisition support of New Exclusive Properties at the direction of CEO
Assist CEO in Exclusive site selection and negotiations with Real Estate Partners - serve as point person when needed

For the non-exclusive property segment:

Lead non-exclusive sales team to meet sales goals including the quarterly acquisition targets of non-exclusive properties
Help set and exceed non-exclusive revenue goals and per property revenue goals
Ensure BLACE venue owners are aware of the benefits of being on the BLACE Marketplace and help BLACE Marketing reinforces sales and retention efforts

Other key responsibilities include:

Develop and manage an Account Management + Sales team
Train Account Management/Sales team to effectively manage client pipeline and efficiently close deals including host and document weekly one on one meetings
Serve as a key member of the BLACE executive team and participate in strategy and planning sessions
Collaborate with Senior Director of Marketing on strategies for revenue growth
Develop best practices, CRM and BLACE’s sales cycle for reporting and long-term planning
Identify industries and organizations to grow BLACE’s business
Assist in fundraising as well as strategic planning and participate in process when called upon by the CEO

THE QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Master’s Degree in Business, Management, Sales or Marketing, strongly preferred
15+ years of high-level events and B2B sales experience
7+ years of management experience with a demonstrated ability to effectively build & lead a sales team, including developing sales strategies, managing performance, incorporating ongoing education, and providing measurable results
Demonstrated ability to drive sales revenue growth in a hyper-growth environment
High-level contacts at large and midsize corporations
Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities with excellent communication skills
Knowledge of event marketing function and marketing ecosystem
Knowledge of sales operations
Ability to quickly earn and maintain trust
Ability to develop strong peer-level relationships and work in a team environment and contribute to the general success of Blace across all facets, including positively representing BLACE among all potential and existing clients
Willingness to travel as needed for various projects
Ability to ruthlessly prioritize revenue goals and be accountable for meeting them
Ability and willingness to educate and influence key stakeholders on revenue strategies

Base salary range of $150,000-$200,000 plus performance based compensation
