We’re a team of pet lovers and experts that started FOTP because we were increasingly frustrated with an industry that’s long been cluttered with misinformation, based on shaky support and too focused on reactive care.

You’ll be joining our fully remote team of passionate pet lovers across the US and the UK. As an early stage company, every role at Front Of The Pack plays an outsized role in building the business and bettering the lives of pets and pet parents everywhere.

About The Role:

The Head of Strategy & Operations will be responsible for a wide-ranging set of operational and strategic activities critical to growing and scaling FOTP, which includes commercial strategy (e.g., pricing, innovation roadmap), management of day-to-day operations (including supply chain and customer service), business reporting and intelligence (e.g., LTV, customer economics), financial modeling, board presentations, and supporting fundraising – just to name a few.

This is a dynamic and highly cross-functional role that will require developing strong relationships and processes both within FOTP and with external parties (e.g., contractors, vendors, suppliers). You will report directly to the CEO, helping drive special projects and serving as a strategic advisor, and be a member of the senior leadership team.

The role is perfect for someone who is yearning to translate their experience to a hands-on operating role, where they will make and own decisions that have real world business impact. And because FOTP is still an early stage start-up, this role will have direct exposure to all aspects of the business and be part of the evolution and growth of the company.

Who You Are:

You are a self-starter with a strong quantitative and analytical background, who can draw actionable insights from data. You don’t just answer the question at face value, you can’t help but go multiple layers deep in order to understand the broader context and implications.

It is critical that you are a strong collaborator and team player, as your responsibilities will push your ability to work in cross-functional environments. You must have a strong interest in consumer products and high learning agility. As part of a lean team at an early stage start-up, it is essential that you can be flexible and evolve in your role as the business changes. You are equally comfortable thinking strategically about a business as you are rolling up your sleeves to help with operational challenges or customer complaints.

You must thrive in a culture of ambiguity and innovation and be excited by the prospect of building a business and a company, where you can have a big impact but will also need to play a wide range of roles.

What You Will Accomplish:

Project manage our supply chain operations, serving as the linchpin between supply chains consultants, our suppliers, and the team, and covering everything from sourcing and manufacturing to transportation and 3PL logistics
Oversee customer experience, including management of third-party customer service partners and troubleshooting customer issues
Lead the sales and operations planning process, working cross functionally to connect inventory planning with sales demand
Help identify and drive cost optimization opportunities across the business
Help determine our commercial strategy, including pricing, product offerings and channels
Run point on our financial budgeting and long-term planning process, soliciting and incorporating cross-functional input from and working directly with finance, operations, and marketing
Create and manage key deliverables and materials for the leadership team and outside investors, including business reporting and board/investor updates

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with a demonstrated record of high academic achievement
5+ years of professional experience, ideally in a combination of management consulting and private equity OR investment banking and private equity OR a strategy and operations role at a high-growth company
Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint
Self-starter with strong sense of urgency / bias for action and ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and processes forward independently and effectively
Able to thrive and be flexible in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
Team player who doesn’t take themselves too seriously
Passion for dogs and/or animals a plus

This role is fully remote but will be US-based; East and Central locations preferred to enable more seamless collaboration with London-based colleagues.
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total rewards package. The base salary range for this position is $140,000-$160,000, but the final compensation offer will ultimately be based on the candidate's location, skill level and experience.
