Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – EVP | Banking + Mortgage

Gateway Group Personnel is conducting a retained national search for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO, EVP) on behalf of a $1B+ community bank with a national mortgage platform and strong growth trajectory.

This is a strategic, hands-on CFO role reporting directly to the CEO, with responsibility for capital strategy, ALCO, regulatory oversight, and financial leadership across a multi-entity organization.

Key Responsibilities

Lead capital planning, balance sheet strategy, and liquidity management
Active participation in ALCO and interest rate risk management
Oversee financial operations across banking and mortgage platforms
Partner with CEO and Board on financial strategy and growth initiatives
Manage regulatory relationships (FDIC, state regulators)
Drive process improvement, reporting accuracy, and financial discipline

Required Experience

Experience in a banking environment (community or regional bank)
Strong exposure to ALCO, capital planning, and regulatory frameworks
Background in mortgage banking or mortgage finance
Proven ability to operate as a strategic finance leader
Experience working with executive leadership and/or Board of Directors

Preferred Qualifications

CPA or strong technical accounting background
Experience in a multi-entity or holding company structure
Background as CFO, EVP Finance, SVP Finance, or Chief Accounting Officer
