Position Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a critical role in the strategic and day-to-day financial management of the company. This is a highly operational role that combines financial leadership with deep involvement in accounting functions. You’ll work closely with the CEO/Owner and leadership team to drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and build scalable processes. The CFO will lead a small but capable accounting team while being intimately involved in everything from closing the books to strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership & Strategy

Partner with the CEO/Owner to develop and execute financial strategy aligned with business goals.
Lead the fiscal year budgeting process and deliver accurate forecasts and performance tracking.
Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making.
Drive strategic initiatives and identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and growth.

Accounting Operations

Oversee all day-to-day accounting functions: general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, inventory accounting, and procurement.
Lead the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
Lead the preparation of internal management reports and key operational metrics.

Controls, Compliance & Audit

Maintain and continuously improve internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Lead the annual financial audit process in coordination with our external CPA firm.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax requirements, including payroll, property, and sales/use tax.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and grow the accounting and finance team.
Establish organizational structure, hire and train new team members as needed.
Create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.

Systems & Tools

Oversee and optimize accounting systems, with experience in QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills.
Identify and implement technology or system upgrades to support business growth and efficiency.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
12+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in a small to mid-sized business.
Strong experience in general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
Hands-on and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (QuickBooks).

Pay: From $170,984.00 per year
