As Sales Operations Research and Development Specialist (R&D Specialist), you will provide operational support for the early stages of the sales cycle, primarily assisting with the prospecting activities of potential customers. You will manage multiple tasks concurrently, often working closely with the Sales team, Contact Center, Creative, Finance and Analytics teams to execute project plans, support lead generation, coordinate the execution of all RFPs/proposals and execute key reporting activities. This includes basic RFP requests that include a small questionnaire to complex requests that can be months long with a variety of complex deliverables which are met through collaborating with internal partners. Additionally, you will help execute tasks that support the overall business, including but not limited to content management, ongoing operational reporting, and key projects as part of a team dedicated to sales growth and continuous process improvement.

You should also be willing to learn the Lean and Agile methodologies to provide quick turnaround on customer needs, resolve complex business problems, actively look for opportunities to improve day-to-day operational processes, and report on activities that impact the health of the business. You should also be able to run small projects independently – able to create and execute a standard project plan, while adjusting to account for changes in direction & conflicting stakeholder needs.

Respond, engage, and qualify inbound leads and inquiries; use SalesForce as a tool to capture leads, contacts, and follow-ups.
Serve as day-to-day contact for cross-functional partners who also engage in vetting & triaging sales leads that come to Lands’ End through multiple sales channels.
Manage the RFP and proposal process from end-to-end, intake to submission for all RFPs.
Accountable for creating and managing project timelines, scope, and execution to deliver high quality RFP submissions on existing and new business client requests.
Effectively partner with varying cross-functional teams and leads own project management responsibilities for a successful submission of RFPs; including content development, financial signoffs, legal signoffs, coordinating with creative for final asset development, knowledge management, and general process improvements as the business grows and evolves.
Partner with the Sales R&D Manager to identify ongoing strategic prospective customers using SalesForce and industry data and execute upon the strategic direction.
Work closely with other cross-functional teams including Marketing and SalesForce product owners to develop account intelligence, relationship maps, and use case opportunities through account engagement and insight tools.
Work with Sales R&D Manager to execute upon the strategic vision for growth of the customer base by supporting cross functional projects and delivering process improvements.
Independently create new processes while actively identifying areas for improvement and proposed solutions to improve customer experience, new business win rate and simplify internal processes/procedures.
Coordinate, facilitate, and execute internal cross functional meetings to deliver improvements across the sales and sales operations regional teams.
Manage relationship and communication between cross-functional partners.
Run and troubleshoot reports in Microsoft Excel and SalesForce
Support miscellaneous, operational aspects of a new sale which includes but is not limited to art/logo set up, collection template development, product sample requests, special gifts, etc.
