Position Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the strategic direction, oversight, and management of all financial aspects of the company. In a manufacturing environment, the CFO will lead efforts to optimize cost efficiency, improve profitability, strengthen financial controls, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. The role requires a balance of strategic vision, operational insight, and hands-on leadership to support sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Collaborate with the CEO, COO and executive team to develop and execute the company’s long-term strategic plan.
Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plans, budgets, and forecasts.
Lead financial scenario modeling to guide decisions on capital investment, expansion, and operational improvements.

Financial Planning & Analysis

Oversee all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to manufacturing, including production costs, gross margin, and inventory turnover.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Operational Finance & Cost Management

Work closely with operations leadership to manage cost of goods sold (COGS), improve production efficiency, and optimize supply chain costs.
Implement and maintain robust cost accounting systems specific to manufacturing.
Drive lean manufacturing financial practices to reduce waste and improve profitability.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management

Manage company liquidity, working capital, and capital expenditure planning.
Oversee cash flow forecasting, ensuring adequate funds for operational and strategic needs.
Optimize financing structures, debt management, and relationships with banks.

Risk Management & Compliance

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
Oversee audits, tax planning, and regulatory reporting.
Develop risk mitigation strategies, including insurance, currency exposure, and supply chain vulnerabilities.

Leadership & Team Development

Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team to support high performance and career growth.
Foster cross-departmental collaboration to align financial and operational goals.
Champion a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role within a manufacturing environment.
Proven track record in cost management, strategic planning, and operational finance.
Experience in ERP systems and manufacturing-specific financial tools.
