About the Direct Sales Operations Manager

The Direct Sales Operations Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Direct Sales Division along with the tactical execution of new operational initiatives. This role manages a team of operations specialists and works with their team to ensure the timely completion of daily, weekly, and monthly recurring tasks and to facilitate process improvement via project and change initiatives. This position will work on determining and implementing business rules, creating and documenting new operational processes, and promoting business readiness via SOPs, training, and communication plans. This role will work with Direct Sales Division leadership to establish operational priorities and work cross-functionally with other organizational leaders in Finance, IT, HR, and Administration to accomplish divisional goals.

Personnel Management – Manage a team of individual contributors towards the achievement of personal and collective goals.
Operational Planning & Documentation – Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats. Actively participate in implementation of operational changes to business, recommending controls by identifying problems; writing procedures.
Systems Design – Working with IT personnel, serve as thought leader for designing new forward-thinking system blueprints and changes needed that promote growth, increased efficiency and productivity on multiple levels.
Communication & Training – Provide courteous professional assistance and develop major announcements via emails and phone calls to individuals part of the division. Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings. Create and implement precise plans for every project, with attention to transparent communication at all levels.
Data Analytics & Reporting – Collect, analyze, interpret, store, and present data on sales performance, market research, logistics, reporting, and other divisional KPI metrics to assist leadership with strategic decision-making.
Presentation Design & Creation – Be able to organize and transform analytical information into comprehensible and presentable structures. This role will assist on quarterly presentations and larger sales conference presentations.

Who will be Successful

Operations Manager should have several years of experience in business, project, product, or process management. Operations Manager should have prior experience managing a team. This role should also have experience in implementing, documenting, and training around new processes. Specific skills and required include:

Analytical skills – This role involves extreme attention to detail, interpreting sales, financial, and technological data and requests from the Sales Operations Team.
Problem-solving abilities – Creative thinking to research problems and troubleshooting skills to find new ways to support business growth.
Organization & Time management – Extremelyorganized with strong time-management skills. Must be able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks needed to accomplish.
Communication skills – Strong verbal articulation and grammatically correct correspondence are required. Knowledge of employee benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.) and benefit administration platforms.
Creative skills – Must have strong creative skills as model formats, email designs, presentation templates, improving sales marketing material, and process documentation are all day-to-day skills needed.
Computer knowledge – Must be extremely proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
