About the job:

Our client, a recently launched digital media agency are looking for a Chief Revenue Officer to oversee company-wide revenue generation and to build an integrated approach across sales and marketing to create the best customer experience.

This is a unique opportunity to get involved at the early stages of a new Media Agency to shape the offer, direction and future of the business.

Responsibilities of the Role:

The CGO/CRO/HOS will be responsible for refining and ultimately delivering the go to market strategy for the External “Growth Media” Business. This will involve work closely with the CEO and CDO to develop and own the strategy to drive initially new and subsequently repeat business revenue. This will include:

Identifying the right prospects and building a pipeline: define ideal buyers, select market segments, and pick audiences to engage with.
Metrics: set up top-down goals and metrics based on both internal goals and external market opportunities in selected markets. As an early stage business you will be in charge of building out the CRM and Pipeline structure.
Product: partner with internal teams from both centralised functions and, continuously refining value propositions and looking for differentiators.
GTM: define go-to-market models across offers and segments to access buyers, customers, and influencers.
Demand Generation: when and where appropriate manage marketing programs to attract, engage, and convert leads.
Sales Strategy: oversee sales strategy and execution for marketing and sales to optimise buyer engagement and the efficient and effective execution of sales that maximises the opportunity from first contact to closed deals.
Recruitment: as and when appropriate build a performance-based culture by attracting, hiring, and retaining top sales and marketing staff.
Sales Management: As and when appropriate build and manage the sales teams activities and competencies to sell our solutions and
manage relationships, so that they meet and exceed targets.
Budget: manage and allocate the budget to maximise performance.

Role Requirements

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following:

Successful leadership experience, in particular scaling and managing all aspects of the sales and marketing function.
Experience as a Senior Sales leader with industry expertise ideally having worked in and scaled a start up media based business.
Successful track record in building and leading successful sales teams in high growth environments including experience in training & developing successful sales staff
A good working understanding of both Organic and Paid Digital Media with a track record in having sold Digital solutions ideally across multiple sectors.
Demonstrable understanding of client side business and the capability to converse with C-Suite / Board level about scaling their business
Experience creating, defining and operationalising go-to-market strategies and managing sales across multiple sectors. International experience is also desirable.
A good working understanding of how agencies work ideally having worked previously in an agency environment.
Track record of success delivering to target both as an individual contributor and via sales and marketing teams, with a consistent ability to deliver a high quality and sometimes complex deal structure.
A current book of contacts to get started with plus demonstrable ability to drive demand from completely cold leads & sectors
Excellent interpersonal skills & the gravitas to represent the business across multiple sectors.
A “can do” attitude and determination to make this a success is a must.
