The Manchester Hotel is a lifestyle hotel located in Lexington, KY. The property proudly features 125 well appointed guest rooms and two upscale dining outlets. Located in the heart of the Distillery District of Downtown Lexington. We are seeking a high energy, self-motivated sales professional to join our team.

As a member of the sales team, the Director of Sales is an essential role to the overall success of the property. This position will have the ability to inspire and influence both internally and externally on a daily basis. This position reports to the Managing Director.

Duties Include

The Director of Sales will be responsible for the daily sales operations in conjunction with the solicitation of business from all markets, including but not limited to corporate, leisure and entertainment. The Director of Sales will work to drive revenue through consistent and effective sales efforts to meet company goals.
Building, strengthening and retaining relationships with new and existing customers to enable future bookings and maximize hotel revenues.
Researching, planning and executing sales calls, client entertainment opportunities, promotional events etc.
Attending trade shows, community events and industry meetings.
Participating in local and professional organizations relevant to the role to maintain current market knowledge, industry trends, competition and key customers of the hotel.
Must be proficient in general computer knowledge and able to navigate and execute both the group and transient contractual agreement processes, quoting rates, fielding referrals, setting traces, and the management of retention, reactivation, and acquisition accounts. .
Communication and organizational skills are of the utmost importance.

Qualifications

2 years or more of progressive hotel Sales experience
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
Must possess the ability to cultivate strong external and internal relationships, understand hotel food and beverage and room operations with strong administrative skills and the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Previous hotel pre-opening experience preferred, but not required
Demonstrated history of success - Results driven, energetic, and focused
Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to drive top line revenue growth
Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
