As Chief Financial Officer, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for our Finance and IT departments, ensuring effective financial management of the business. This role is responsible for guiding financial operations and information technology functions whilst maintaining high standards of execution and meeting critical deadlines. As a key member of the Executive team, the CFO actively contributes to the organisation’s strategic direction and continued growth.
We are seeking a highly technical and systems-oriented professional who possesses strong commercial acumen. The ideal candidate will have the ability to optimise financial and IT processes and systems while aligning them with broader business objectives to drive growth and efficiency.
This is a Full-Time role based from our global head office located in Burleigh Heads, QLD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to GLL’s short- and long-term business strategies as a key Executive team member.
- Provide leadership and development experience to our Finance and IT teams.
- Lead the Finance Team to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with Australian and global accounting standards.
- Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting while liaising with key stakeholders (ATO, auditors, etc.).
- Provide financial guidance to the Executive and Board for informed decision-making.
- Manage balance sheet components, including tax, funding, and financial risks.
- Drive cost-efficiency initiatives to maximize profitability.
- Oversee all accounting operations, including AR, AP, reporting, management accounting, and global payroll.
- Ensure cash flow management, legal compliance, and adherence to audit requirements.
- Optimize financial systems for accurate data analysis and reporting.
- Produce high-quality financial reports for senior executives and committees.
- Manage leases and monitor key property changes/opportunities.
- Support the delivery of IT initiatives that enhance business efficiency and customer experience.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and align financial priorities.
- Assess and implement changes in local and international regulatory standards.
- Lead finance and IT transformations, including policy, process, and system updates.
- Oversee weekly payroll processing for local and international teams.
- Support sales team transactions and ensure accurate commission and incentive processing.
- Drive automation of financial reporting via Power BI while maintaining data integrity.
Experience & Knowledge Required:
- Minimum 5-10 year’s experience in a similar role at a similar level
- Experience as a senior leader within a growing and dynamic organisation
- Experience working in a SME is advantageous
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce/finance or related
- CPA or CA qualified
- Proven track record in gathering and developing requirements and solutions for finance and IT teams to deliver on organizational strategy
- Ability to set strategic business plans to achieve operational short term and long term goals
- Experience in leading a high-performance team and working within tight deadlines
- Highly effective time management and the ability to deliver to agreed timelines
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Full understanding of current accounting practices and standards, global experience particularly in North America would be highly regarded
- Proven analytical capabilities – ability to leverage analytics to realize and improve performance and key metrics
- Ability to create strategic roadmaps clearly aligning to organization objectives and goals
- Strategic leadership and problem solving abilities
- Advance skills in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting and payroll software
- Ability to work independently at an executive level
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to deliver presentation and proposals to the Executive team and at Board level

- Post graduate qualification in Finance/Accounting or MBA
- Experience in business management software such as NetSuite/SAP
- Experience in Power BI, developing and maintaining key business dashboards
- Previous experience in a retail, sales and /or manufacturing environment
