Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Position Overview: Seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the corporate accounting and financial reporting functions of the company. The CFO will have a direct impact on company operations, providing financial insights, strategizing growth, and ensuring fiscal responsibility. This role requires expertise in capital raising, financial planning, and navigating periods of both expansion and downsizing.
The CFO will report to the CEO & President and oversee corporate accounting, financial reporting, treasury management, financial systems, budgeting, and internal controls. This role demands a strong leader who can develop and execute financial strategies while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement long-term financial strategies, annual budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Manage and execute full-cycle accounting processes, including accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), job cost accounting, month-end close, consolidation, and financial reporting.
- Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational/financial scorecards.
- Establish, maintain, and enforce internal controls across all departments.
- Analyze economic trends and revenue opportunities while identifying areas for cost reduction and process optimization.
- Oversee risk management by evaluating company liabilities, investments, and capital structure.
- Ensure robust cash flow management and maintain financial stability.
- Supervise cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting functions.
- Lead the development and administration of employee benefits.
- Provide detailed financial reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Support senior leadership in financial analysis of customer proposals, project finance, and contract compliance.
- Oversee financial IT systems to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement best practices for financial operations, project management, and cross-team collaboration.
- Coordinate annual internal reviews, tax filings, and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations.
- Offer strategic financial advice to senior leadership based on industry trends and company performance.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5 to 10 years of senior financial leadership experience, with at least five years as a CFO or Vice President of Finance.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is required, including job cost accounting (using 4 methods), and overhead burden rate development.
- Deep understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles in accordance with GAAP.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state financial and tax regulations.
- Proven ability to analyze financial data, prepare detailed reports, and establish actionable solutions.
- Need to have advanced hands-on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience, is required.
- Experience in raising capital beyond traditional lines of credit; M&A experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant bachelor's degree is required.
- CPA or CMA helpful but not required, and Master’s degree preferred, but not required.
