Chief Financial Officer
A growing Traverse City based company is seeking a seasoned financial professional to lead its Finance team. This role requires in-office presence daily.
The CFO will serve as the financial architect and strategic advisor to the organization, driving financial strategy, operational efficiency, and long-term fiscal health. This position requires expertise in financial management, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and operational oversight. The CFO will collaborate closely with executive leadership and department heads to align financial and operational goals with the company’s strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and execute financial strategies to support long-term growth and profitability.
- Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
- Provide data-driven insights to support revenue growth, cost efficiencies, and capital allocation.
- Contribute to M&A strategy, including due diligence, deal structuring, and post-acquisition integration.
- Ensure optimal capital structure and financing strategies.
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Ensure accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
- Oversee accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
- Manage cash flow, capital expenditures, and financial investments.
- Serve as a key liaison with stakeholders, providing financial transparency and strategic insights.
Technology & Process Innovation:
- Champion the adoption of financial technology solutions to streamline operations and enhance decision-making.
- Leverage digital tools to increase efficiency, improve reporting accuracy, and support scalability.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in senior finance or operational leadership roles (CFO, VP of Finance).
- CPA, Master’s degree, or MBA preferred.
- Deep knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards (GAAP), and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to forecast with precision and ensure financial integration and operational efficiency.
- Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Experience driving technology-enabled financial and operational improvements.
- Ability to prioritize, manage change, and drive organizational success.
