About Us
DFTV is an innovative entertainment and commerce platform connecting luxury brands with high-net-worth individuals in a whole new way. Powered by our proprietary technology, we’re redefining media, media distribution, advertising, luxury product sales, travel retail and e-commerce by blending storytelling with exclusive shopping experiences. As we scale, we are looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team of elite professionals.
The Role
We need a strategic, hands-on CFO who will lead our financial operations and play a key role in defining our start-up strategy, our investment strategy and our long-term growth strategy. Your job is to help us create a compelling investment narrative and execute our financial strategy—from early-stage funding to long-term profitability.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute our financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and long-term growth.
- Identify and present all available funding options, from sales and pre-sales to all forms of strategic investment.
- Oversee and manage the process of securing capital through various funding sources, including early-stage investments, venture funding, and alternative financing strategies.
- Construct our business model, competitive landscape analysis, growth strategy, investment roadmap and pitch materials to attract top-tier investors.
- Develop detailed pro-forma financials, pricing models, and economic strategies to guide our expansion.
- Design a burn rate and customer ramp-up model, providing a clear walk-up to profitability with accurate financial forecasting.
- Ensure financial compliance, risk management, and operational efficiency at every stage of growth.
- Leverage your considerable network to attract top professionals and generally promote our company.
- Speak about our company and industry to financial publications, broadcasters, and trades. Participate in industry panels on our behalf as a global expert.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance executive at an established company, with preference given to those who have worked with startups within media, media distribution, advertising, sales & marketing, luxury goods or e-commerce.
- Deep expertise in capital raising and investment structures, including angel investments, seed funding, SAFE notes, priced rounds, venture capital, and debt financing.
- Experience leading a startup to a successful exit and responsibility for strategic financial planning, ultimately guiding the company through mergers, acquisitions, or IPO processes to maximize stakeholder value.
- Expertise in financial modeling, pro-formas, growth strategies, pricing, and forecasting.
- A strong understanding of market analysis, including TAM, SOM, SAM, and competitive positioning.
- An understanding of the current trends, challenges, innovations and opportunities in the fields of media, entertainment, sales & marketing, e-commerce, machine learning and natural language processing, and how they relate to our company and our value proposition.
- Strong leadership skills, capable of building and managing a high-performing finance team.
- Excellent investor relations and fundraising strategy experience—you won’t raise the capital yourself, but you will lead the search and guide the process to success.
- Los Angeles-based candidates preferred.
Compensation
This role comes with a salary and includes an equity stake in the company, ensuring alignment with long-term growth and success.
