Position Summary:As General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and operational efficiency of ECD across both locations. This is a pivotal role for a dynamic and strategic leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about making a lasting impact through high-quality construction and community engagement.
You will report directly to the President and will work collaboratively with leadership and staff across all departments to ensure seamless project execution, financial performance, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage all company-wide operations across both locations (Prince George & Ladysmith)
- Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with company goals and values
- Oversee regional Operations Managers, Project Managers, and administrative teams
- Ensure project performance, profitability, and adherence to quality standards
- Collaborate with the Estimating, Sales, Logistics, and Procurement teams to support efficient workflows
- Monitor and manage budgets, KPIs, and cost control measures
- Support business development and client engagement strategies in collaboration with the President and Director of Strategic Growth
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture within the company
- Oversee staffing, hiring, training, and professional development in collaboration with HR/Administrative team
- Represent ECD in high-level stakeholder meetings, partnerships, and community engagements
- Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and environmental regulations
Qualifications:- Proven experience in a senior leadership role (preferably in construction, project management, or a related field)
- Strong knowledge of construction operations, budgeting, and business development
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience managing multi-location operations is an asset
- Ability to build trust and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous partners and community leaders
- Strong financial acumen and strategic thinking
- Familiarity with procurement, logistics, and cost-saving methodologies
- Experience with staff hiring, performance management, and HR oversight
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between locations as needed
