Position Overview
We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, overseeing all financial activities and driving the financial strategy of a mid-size manufacturing company. The CFO will ensure robust financial health, mitigate risks, and support operational efficiency in alignment with the company’s business goals. This role will be critical in achieving organizational growth, optimizing financial performance, and enhancing investor and stakeholder confidence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies, including long-term forecasting, budgeting, and planning to support business growth.
- Partner with the executive team to align financial goals with strategic business objectives in a manufacturing environment.
- Act as a key advisor on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other investment opportunities.
2. Financial Planning and Analysis
- Lead the preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Analyze industry trends, cost structures, and economic developments to assess their impact on the company’s profitability and operations.
- Oversee KPI reporting and financial benchmarks to track performance and drive decision-making.
3. Risk Management and Compliance
- Manage enterprise risks, ensuring the company’s financial and legal compliance with regulations relevant to the manufacturing sector.
- Maintain a robust system of internal controls and safeguard company assets.
- Oversee audits, tax filings, and external reporting processes.
4. Operational Finance
- Supervise treasury functions, optimizing cash flow, working capital, and credit management.
- Collaborate with operations to evaluate cost efficiencies, streamline processes, and deliver value across the supply chain.
- Ensure accurate cost accounting and inventory management processes.
5. People Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals, fostering skill-building in ERP systems, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Promote ongoing upskilling and reskilling initiatives, ensuring the team’s expertise aligns with emerging manufacturing demands
- Establish a succession plan for key finance roles within the organization.
6. Technology and Innovation
- Drive adoption of financial ERP software to enhance data visibility, reporting, and decision-making.
- Leverage emerging AI tools to improve forecasting, reporting accuracy, and financial transparency
- Sponsor digital transformation initiatives to keep the finance function competitive.
Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field required; CPA and/or MBA preferred
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role
- Strong experience working in manufacturing or industrial sectors is required
- Proven expertise in driving cost-efficiency programs and identifying growth opportunities in a mid-market organization.
