We have a unique opportunity for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join us on our journey to transform our bold ambitions into a reality! This will be Heritage’s first Chief Financial Officer and is the key to helping the organization grow from an $8MM to $10MM business by 2026.
This position will handle the financial and accounting operations of a rapidly growing organization while setting up the long-term financial strategies of the organization. We are seeking a strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit and a growth mindset.
The following education, skills and experience are required for the Chief Financial Officer role:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, managerial finance, business administration or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a Controller position, ideally including experience as a company’s first Controller
- Advanced excel skills including: pivot tables, macros, building equations, charts and graphs
- High Proficiency with QuickBooks, MS Office and job-costing technologies
- Solid data analytics and audit skills
- Experience processing daily A/R, A/P and reconciliations a must
- Strong analytical, technical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience developing budgets and tracking budgets and cashflow
- Strong financial acumen and process orientation
- Ability and passion for leveraging data to influence others and drive business decisions
Chief Financial Officer responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
*Manages the preparation of the financial analysis of the organization, including:
- Overseeing the monthly and year-end closing process and preparation of financial statements and cash flow projections
- Responsible for processing A/R and A/P
- Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Analyzing and interpreting financial reports to understand trends in profitability, performance against budget and other key measures of the financial health of the organization
- Recommending changes to organization processes and strategy to improve financial results
*Prepares and complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, including:
- Ensuring the appropriate procedures and accounting practices are followed for monthly, quarterly and year end closing processes
- Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
*Collaborates with other managers to ensure the accuracy of systems and efficiencies of the process, including:
- Identifying opportunities to improve the accounting practices, internal controls, and processes
- Implementing change initiatives including system integrations
- Interpreting and leveraging data to drive business decisions
*Establishes strong financial processes, reporting and analysis
- Developing a budget and real time cashflow reporting
- Identifying daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting needs for all levels of the leadership team
We offer a competitive compensation structure including a base salary of $145,000-160,000 we also offer a strong benefits package including medical, dental, vision, sick leave, 401(k), profit sharing and an unlimited paid time off plan.
