Our client, an industry leader in freight transportation services, is hiring a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and driving strategic growth initiatives. This Executive will play a critical role in shaping and executing the company’s financial strategy, optimizing profitability, and supporting new business ventures. We are seeking a forward-thinking leader with deep financial acumen, preferably with experience in the transportation or logistics industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial functions, including accounting, cash flow planning, budgeting, forecasting, tax planning, risk management, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s long-term business objectives.
- Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making on business expansion, fleet optimization, and capital investments.
- Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
- Schedule and lead monthly meetings with executive team to review financials, cash position, forecast, and financial implications of contemplated business agreements or transactions.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and acquisitions to drive sustainable growth.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, tax, and financial reporting requirements.
- Implement and optimize financial systems, internal controls, and cost-reduction strategies.
- Manage relationships with banks and external stakeholders, including evaluating current financing and line of credit pricing against other available market options to ensure utilization of the best pricing and service.
- Collaborate with the executive team to integrate technology solutions that enhance financial transparency and operational performance.
- Provide leadership to the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Discuss strategic business decisions with external tax accounting firm to make best efforts to structure transactions in a tax efficient manner.
- Work with Director of Accounting to evaluate current accounting system capabilities against other available market options then determine if a change is needed.
- Monitor debt compliance and covenant requirements for all loans and line of credit facilities.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 10+ years of financial leadership experience, preferably within the transportation, logistics, or supply chain sectors.
- Proven track record in financial strategy, risk management, and operational efficiency.
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and business growth initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a collaborative mindset.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analytics.
- Accounting software experience.
- Expert Microsoft Excel proficiency.
