Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee the financial operations and long-term fiscal health of our radiology medical practice. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in healthcare finance, preferably within a radiology or physician group setting, and a proven track record of managing financial performance in a complex, multi-provider organization.
This is a key executive role, responsible not only for finance but also for helping shape the future direction of the practice alongside the leadership team.
Position is Fully Remote, with occasional travel to meet with managing partners in Orchard Park, NY
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Partner with the COO and managing partners to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s vision and growth objectives.
- Participate in strategic planning, forecasting, and decision-making across operations, clinical services, and expansion initiatives.
Financial Oversight:
- Direct all financial functions including billing, account reconciliation, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, revenue cycle management, and compliance.
- Oversee all aspects of accounting, billing, collections, and payer relations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and proactively identify financial risks and opportunities.
Team & Physician Management:
- Work closely with physician leadership to align financial planning with clinical priorities.
- Serve as a financial advisor to managing partners and COO
- Manage finance team personnel, ensuring accountability, continuous improvement, and alignment with organizational goals.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure full compliance with New York state healthcare financial regulations, tax codes, and payer requirements.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to mitigate financial and operational risk.
M&A and Growth Initiatives:
- Lead due diligence, valuation, and financial integration activities related to acquisitions, joint ventures, or partnerships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a healthcare or medical practice setting.
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in radiology, imaging centers, or multi-specialty physician groups.
- Demonstrated success managing or working closely with a physician team of 20–50+ providers.
- Deep knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle, payer contracting, and regulatory environments.
- Proven ability to lead a finance team in a fast-paced, service-oriented healthcare environment.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
