The Role
The Director Business Operations (DBO) leads the Aerospace Surveillance Response (ASR) Branch Executive and support team, working together to set the strategic direction for ASR Branch. The DBO is accountable to the Director General (DG) ASR Branch for delivering programmatic support and governance services for the delivery of ASR Capabilities.
The role requires a significant degree of independence and leadership to the ASR Branch Executive and support team covering a breadth of functions including Commercial, Finance, Business Administration, Workforce, Strategic Planning, Executive Coordination, Security, Reporting and Information Management.
About our Team
ASR Branch forms part of the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) and is responsible for the acquisition and sustainment of the Australian Defence Force fixed wing aerospace surveillance and response systems. The ASR Executive Team is a small team of ADF and APS personnel that provides direct support to DGASR and the System Program Offices.

Highly Desirable Criteria
- A considerable level of experience with stakeholder engagement and demonstrated ability to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations in order to achieve the Divisional and wider Defence business outcomes.

Possess sound commercial and business acumen including a demonstrated understanding of the Defence Industry sector in Australia.

Relevant qualifications or demonstrated experience in business, commercial and/or program management.
