RPM Hire is seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to drive strategic growth, champion financial innovation, and lead an empowered finance team. As part of the executive leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our business across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Financial Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Shape and execute RPM’s financial strategy in alignment with corporate goals.
- Provide commercial insights and strategic recommendations to CEO, COO, and the Board.
- Support the balance between both high-growth targets and high shareholder dividend yields sought, overseeing financial engineering initiatives to optimise capital structure and dividend performance.
- Foster investor, auditor, and banking relationships; support funding, growth and M&A initiatives.
2. Technology, Systems & Process Innovation
- Champion the automation of financial processes and systems (e.g., ERP, Power BI, Xero).
- Lead digital transformation across reporting, forecasting, and commercial analysis.
- Drive best-in-class, tech-enabled finance operations.
3. Team Leadership & People Development
- Lead, coach, and elevate the finance team with a high-performance mindset.
- Cultivate a strong culture of accuracy, commercial acumen, and proactive support.
- Provide mentoring to develop future finance leaders.
Additional Responsibilities
Financial Management & Oversight
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, statutory compliance, forecasting and budgeting.
- Oversee audits, tax obligations, and internal controls.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Embed governance, financial risk frameworks, and compliance controls.
- Ensure timely lodgement and adherence to ASIC, ATO, and internal policy standards.
Business Planning & Commercial Support
- Drive value through insightful commercial analysis, scenario planning, and modelling.
- Support major bids/tenders, pricing, asset payback, procurement, and capital allocation.
Who We’re Looking For
Essential Experience & Attributes
- Proven CFO/Finance Director with 8–10+ years in senior finance leadership roles.
- A technology-driven finance professional with deep experience in ERP systems, Xero, Power BI, and advanced Excel — able to champion automation and AI to optimise financial processes and reporting.
- Experience managing financial reporting for audited entities is critical.
- Strong technical knowledge to oversee reporting accuracy to AASB standards and preparation of accurate consolidated statutory accounts.
- Demonstrated capability in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), including budgeting, forecasting, and delivering commercial insights that drive strategic decisions.
- Dynamic and hands-on – ready to roll up sleeves and embed scalable processes.
- A true leader-coach, capable of growing and mentoring a team through change and continuous improvement initiatives.
Relevant Industry Experience
- Hire, logistics, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
- M&A and/or high-growth and transformation environments.
- High dividend-paying and capital-return focused organisations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (essential).
- CPA or CA qualification (essential).
- MBA or Corporate Governance qualifications (desirable).
