POSITION OVERVIEW
As the right hand to the COO the VP of Business Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing business support functions that power field service execution, project delivery, and overall company performance. This role leads teams and processes across fleet, procurement, acquisition integration, vendor management, compliance, and business systems to ensure operational efficiency, financial accuracy, and scalable growth.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, guide and direct the fleet, acquisition integration, procurement and operational compliance teams in support of the company's growth objectives
- Streamline workflows to reduce bottlenecks and increase throughput and accountability
- Support adoption and effective utilization of technology platforms such as field service management (FSM) software, ERP systems, or CRM tools
- Establish SOPs and drive process standardization across markets or branches
- Guide the integration activities for new company acquisitions
- Implement customer feedback loops and service-level reporting
- Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and customer-first mindset
- Implement tracking and reporting systems to ensure transparency and accountability
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and P&L for the operations department
- Identify cost-saving initiatives and drive operational efficiency and margin improvements
- Develop and implement business strategies, KPIs, and operational policies to support growth and margin targets
- Support cross functional team development and effectiveness

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT
- This position will report directly to the COO
- Is responsible for leading the systems, fleet and integration teams
- Will align closely with branch leadership, finance and HR
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience in operations management within commercial HVAC, mechanical contracting, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or related
- Proven experience leading field service teams and P&L responsibility
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, service workflows, and commercial construction/service contracts
- Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Experience with FSM, CMMS, ERP, or construction project management software
- Experience in leading or participating in M&A integration activities
