Growing, established credit union is seeking their next CFO. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, this person will manage all practices and activities in the Accounting Department to ensure compliance with state and federal rules and regulations, as well as manage auditing, accounting, and record keeping activities for the credit union to ensure that they meet GAAP.

Responsibilities
- Manages all functions and staff of Accounting Department.
- In conjunction with the CEO, establishes and maintains the organization’s overall accounting systems, procedures, and policies to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Directs all preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial information, including budgets, planning, and required filings and reports.
- Oversees all financial, project, and program accounting. Ensures expenditures are aligned with budget.
- Maintains strong internal controls and safeguards to protect credit union assets.
- Identifies challenges and gaps across accounting and financial systems, technology, processes, and people and recommends opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and scale.
- Prepares financial statements and board reports.
- Serves as Chair of the Asset Liability Committee and as liaison with auditors/examiners on annual audits and regulatory exams.
- Oversees investment portfolio.
Knowledge and skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a credit union or community bank.
- Master’s degree preferred or Bachelor’s degree with CPA certification.
- Ability to perform complex daily tasks independently, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Must be able to adapt to and embrace daily challenges and organizational changes, while taking initiative to maintain knowledge of current processes and procedures.
- Must be a team player with a “hands-on” approach while also able to be a strategic thinker. Demonstrates qualities of dedication, accountability, and leadership.
- Highly self-motivated and organized with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
- Experience with Microsoft Suite.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
