As the CFO, you will be responsible for all financial aspects of the company including accounting, people, systems, processes, records, and information. This role reports directly to the CEO and will manage all accounting and financial aspects of the business entities of this Family-Owned Company. The CFO will be onsite in Frederick Maryland at the Company headquarters alongside the executive team.
Responsibilities:
· Provide leadership, direction, and management of the accounting department. Directly supervise the Controller to assure compliance will all company reporting and tax requirements, efficient processes and adequate internal controls. Indirectly supervise 6-7 accounting and billing specialists and associated staff.
· The position is a “Hands On” job , requiring the ability to occasionally perform controller duties during the busy season.
· Provide strategic partnership & recommendations to the executive team.
· Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements.
· Direct the year end closings and coordinate tax return preparation with CPAs for timely filings.
· Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgets and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting.
· Advise on long-term business, financial planning and cash management.
· Quarterly travel to plant sites.
· Collaborate with other company leaders to drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying root cause of issues and developing strategies and tactics to improve.
· Responsible for compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, sales tax and other applicable tax laws.
Job Qualifications:
· 4-year degree in accounting or finance
· 10+ years’ accounting experience in the private sector
· Experience with Microsoft Business Central, QuickBooks and ADP
· Experience with implementing and maintaining new ERPs is a plus
· Experience in closely held or family owned businesses is a plus
