Our client in the Greenhouse Industry is currently looking for a Chief Financial Officer who can guide the financial systems that empower the company. They are searching for an experienced CFO to join the team of high-performing professionals and keep the finances positioned for continued success. The CFO will have a day-to-day, ongoing impact on company operations, helping them to analyze, strategize, and grow their financial position. This seasoned strategist not only will understand current accounting practices and trends but also will have experience raising capital and adapting to change. As a member of the senior management, the CFO will be comfortable in a leadership role that requires clear and effective communication skills.
Salary will depend upon experience and will be discussed at the interview.
Role Responsibilities:
- Working closely with external auditors, responsible for compliance with federal, provincial, and U.S. regulations related to taxation, financial reporting, payroll, and transportation.
- Oversee all monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
- Review non-consolidated statements and prepare consolidated reports for Canadian.
- Primary contact with external and government auditors. Oversea and finalize preparation of year end working papers.
- Oversea and lead development inventory systems, reporting and counts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Work closely with the President in securing financing for the corporate group for internally driven expansions as well as M&A activity.
- Provide forecast and budgetary information for new projects as well as the consolidated corporate group.
- Manage online treasury functions with primary banks. Roll out and configure new treasury solutions with staff to enable efficient reporting, controls and cash management.
- Plan and manage US currency purchases and optimize borrowing costs via management of a combination of corra and prime based lending facilities.
- Establish and maintain all LEI registrations for all companies.
- Responsible for financing and bank relationships.
- Oversee customs and logistics.
- Working with the General Manager and President, plan and manage operational targets for production and cost management.
Qualifications
CPA designation required.
Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 10+ years of accounting experience.
- Results driven, self-starter with an innovative and creative mindset.
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Agricultural - Greenhouse experience an asset.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
