Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations and drive the financial strategy of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial concepts, corporate finance, and fiscal management, with a proven track record in senior leadership roles. As CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing insightful analysis to support decision-making processes.
Duties
- Financial Leadership & Strategy
· Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability.
· Provide financial analysis and forecasting to guide executive decision-making.
· Advise the Executive Director/CEO and Board of Directors on financial matters, trends, and risks.
Accounting & Compliance
· Oversee accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting processes.
· Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations for tax-exempt organizations, and federal/state grant requirements.
· Manage annual audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
· Oversee tax filings (Form 990, state filings, etc.).
Budgeting & Reporting
· Lead the preparation of the annual operating budget in collaboration with department heads.
· Monitor and report on financial performance against budget and grant restrictions.
· Prepare and present regular financial reports to the Board of Directors and Finance Committee.
Grants & Fund Management
· Oversee financial management of grants, restricted funds, and donor contributions.
· Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of program expenditures to funders.
· Collaborate with development/fundraising staff to support grant applications and donor reporting.
Operations & Risk Management
· Manage cash flow, investments, and reserves to support organizational stability.
· Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets.
· Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws (in partnership with HR).
· Ensure adequate insurance coverage and risk management practices.
Leadership & Team Development
· Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff.
· Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and ethical financial practices.
· Collaborate with program and administrative leaders to align financial planning with program goals.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
