Vedanta Limited operates a 5 MTPA (million tonnes per annum) capacity Alumina refinery and an associated 220 MW captive power plant at Lanjigarh (Kalahandi district, Odisha). The refinery feeds Vedanta’s aluminum smelters at Jharsuguda in Odisha and at BALCO in Korba, Chhattisgarh. Our vision is to build one of the safest, largest single-location Alumina refineries with more than 6 MTPA capacity and among the lowest-cost Alumina producers, with compliance, ethics, and governance as the fundamental values of the business, aimed at delivering superior returns to all stakeholders.
Role Name : Deputy Chief Financial Officer
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process, including departmental budget reviews and approvals.
- Lead forecasting processes to predict financial outcomes and adjust strategies as necessary.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to management, shareholders, and external stakeholders.
- Oversee all audit and compliance activities, including external audits and internal reviews.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow to ensure liquidity and operational efficiency.
- Optimize working capital management to maintain financial stability and support business operations.
- Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, including currency, interest rate, and market risks.
- Provide in-depth financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate investment opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, and capital projects.
- Optimize cost management strategies and drive cost reduction initiatives.
- Oversee project delivery, ensuring adherence to governance standards, timelines, and IRR targets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors.
- Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Leverage technology solutions to streamline financial processes and reporting.
- Provide financial support and insights for key strategic initiatives, including business expansion and product development.
- Developing and implementing financial strategies, ensuring accurate reporting, overseeing compliance, managing risks, coordinating with auditors, consultants, and internal departments, and providing financial insights to the Board of Directors.
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- CA/CS/CFA/CPA
- 15+ years of experience in the relevant field
- Problem solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Profound analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated business acumen and disruptive thinking.
Educational criteria (Mandatory)
- Minimum 60% and above in all academics.
- No gap in education activities (only one year allowed either between 12th & Graduation or graduation & Post graduation)
- No gap in employment is preferred.
