EMVision Medical Devices Ltd (ASX:EMV) is a publicly listed company with ambitions to help reduce the global burden of stroke and traumatic brain injury. Our first commercial product, the emu brain scanner (for in-hospital use) is presently undergoing an international pivotal trial at leading comprehensive stroke centres such as Mayo Clinic, UCLA, UTHealth and Mt Sinai, among others, to support regulatory clearance. Our second product, the First Responder (for pre-hospital use) is taking to the road and the skies, following closely behind. We are currently transitioning from a predominately R&D focus to a focus on commercialisation and preparing for market entry. We are pursuing a United States first approach, with global expansion ambitions. Key additional markets of interest include APAC and Europe, among others. We have established a pilot production line in Macquarie Park, Sydney.
With this transition underway, we are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer, specifically a driven, high-energy individual with an ‘owner’ mentality, with the confidence to support market entry and business growth. The role is ideal for a leader who has navigated the shift from technology development to sales in MedTech, biotech or a similar environment and is adept at working in high-growth, regulated settings.
Key to this role is an ability to work cross-functionality, being hands-on to complete the primary deliverables of planning, implementation, managing and operation of all finance activities, whilst also functioning at a management level. EMVision is a young company seeking to commercialise an exciting product portfolio, and this role is vitally important for implementing robust financial processes and meeting statutory reporting requirements to enable company success and growth.
Managing a small team, and reporting through to the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, the key responsibilities of this role include:
ASX Reporting, Governance and Compliance
- Own all statutory, regulatory, and ASX financial reporting (e.g., quarterly 4C cash flow, annual 4E earnings reports).
- Liaise with external auditors, legal counsel, and the Company Secretary to meet all public company obligations.
- Maintain full compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), ASIC regulations, and ASX Listing Rules.
- Own all tax compliance including income tax and R&D tax.
- Partner with the Company Secretary and Board Committees to uphold best-practice corporate governance.
- Manage employee share scheme implementation and compliance
Operational Finance and Scaling Systems
- Develop scalable systems, controls, and processes to support commercial growth (ERP, revenue tracking, margin reporting).
- Oversee financial operations including budgeting, cash management, procurement, and cost control.
- Implement robust KPIs and dashboards for financial and operational performance.
Commercial Finance
- Manage capital allocation across R&D, clinical trials, production and commercial rollout.
- Lead the design and implementation of financial strategies aligned to commercial growth (sales, marketing, service and logistics operations build out, pricing models, procurement processes, revenue forecasting)
- Support strategic decision-making across market launches, partnerships and commercial operations.
- Model various go-to-market scenarios and financial outcomes to guide executive and Board-level planning.
Risk, Legal, Go to Market Preparation and Expansion
- Implement risk management policies and oversee insurance, contracts, and legal liaison on financial matters.
- Oversee financial risk management, including FX exposure and development of supply chain finance strategies.
- Support legal and compliance oversight for commercial contracts and cross-border operations.
- Contribute to tax structuring and transfer pricing strategies in support of international growth.
Capital Markets and Non-Dilutive Funding
- Support capital markets activity including financial models, investor materials, due diligence support and shareholder communications
- As required, act as the key financial spokesperson to investors, analysts, and stakeholders and establish strong relationships with investment banks, brokers, and institutional investors.
- Own grant pipeline, grant reporting and opportunity mapping, including domestic and international non-dilutive grant programs relevant to R&D, clinical trials, manufacturing and commercialisation.

- CPA or CA qualified, to be successful in this exciting role you will have significant experience in a similar role in an ASX environment.
- Deep understanding of ASX reporting obligations, corporate governance, and capital market dynamics.
- Strong grasp of commercial finance (unit economics, pricing, margin analysis) and international expansion finance.
Desirable Attributes
- A background in revenue generating medical devices, life sciences or manufacturing will be highly regarded.
- Familiarity with FDA, CE Mark or TGA regulatory environments.
- Experience launching new products into hospitals/health systems; understanding of reimbursement pathways.
- Experience with various sales channels (direct, distributors) and international markets, particularly the United States healthcare market.
- Excellent communication skills, high personal and professional integrity.
- Experience working in a fast-paced start-up environment.
