About Us:
Lady of the Sea General Hospital is a critical access hospital serving a community of 21,000. The organization includes a critical access hospital, two rural health clinics, two community pharmacies, an outpatient rehabilitation clinic, a home health agency, and a chronic dialysis center. The organization has a strong focus on quality and safety and has received multiple national awards for patient experience. The community was devastated by Hurricane Ida and the main hospital and buildings on campus sustained significant damage. A permanent hospital is scheduled for completion this winter, as a replacement to the temporary hospital that has been in place since Hurricane Ida.
The Chief Financial Officer serves as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, which is responsible for overall leadership of the organization.

Job Qualifications:
1. Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or Finance.
2. MBA or MHA preferred.
3. Active CPA preferred.
4. Minimum of five years of progressive senior management or executive experience in accounting or finance in a hospital or healthcare organization required.
5. Strong financial and operational knowledge and experience in a Rural health or critical Access Hospital environment preferred.
6. Current knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations that apply to financial practice in healthcare, including FEMA. FEMA experience preferred.
7. Current knowledge of public hospital service district rules, regulations and practices.
Job Description:
- Administers the general accounting, patient financial services, including third-party reimbursement, financial and statistical reporting functions of the organization.
- Has responsibility for Accounting, Revenue Cycle Management, Health Information and Materials Management departments.
- Assists the CEO and Board of Commissioners in the development of long and short-range operations and strategic plans.
- Develops long and short-range operational and capital budgets, which support the organization’s long and short-range plans and objectives.
- Directs the preparation of internal financial reports including work papers for the annual financial audit and cost report. Interprets monthly financial reports to the Administrative team and Board of Commissioners.
- Consults and negotiates with Third-party concerning the payment rates to the organization.
- Supports CEO in Planning, developing , and implementing strategic goals and objectives with organizational leadership and hospital Board of Commissioners
- Work with organization , FEMA consultants, and other funding agencies to secure funding for future construction projects
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $145,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
