About the Role
You will empower, lead and coach 4 teams across the Finance Portfolio overseeing key financial functions, including budgeting, rates and revenue, insurance, and management accounting. You will be integral in uplifting our finance division, using innovative practices to identify risks and opportunities in alignment with business goals.
You will be strategic in your approach whilst driving accountability within the Group enhancing the way City of Ryde works with finance. You will implement and deliver strategic programs, plans and projects fostering stakeholder engagement.
You will be solutions focussed, identifying gaps in current practices, delivering fit-for-purpose procedures and tools to boost our internal capability. As part of the Executive Leadership team, you will pro-actively lead from the front, driving accountability in your team whilst bringing your commercial mindset to the community.
You have the expertise to work with a range of complex matters, using your strategic approach in guiding your team to deliver best practice to the people of Ryde.
About You
You will be influential in the future vision of City of Ryde by taking your team on a journey of growth. Your superior leadership skills are key to bringing your teams together and thinking of the future-state City of Ryde.
You will bring your previous experience in risk management, including the ability to assess and mitigate risks while ensuring compliance with regulations. Your prior background in a similar role coupled with the ability to build solid relationships across the business will be key to your success.
You will have substantial knowledge managing budgets, financial planning, and forecasting for projects and operational needs.
In addition, you will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Finance, Accounting or Business, or equivalent industry experience.
- Current membership with an accredited professional accounting body (i.e. Institute of Chartered Accountants (Australia), CPA Australia, or Institute of Public Accountants).
- Mixed experience in Private Sector and Government, overseeing teams and resources in finance, accounting, business or related fields.
- Extensive experience in developing and managing the preparation and analysis of complex financial information to support financial decision making.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Australian Accounting Standards and a thorough understanding of financial and management accounting frameworks.
- Significant experience in the preparation of Annual Statutory Accounts.
Your commencing annual salary will range from $235,630.17 to $253,302.43 + Superannuation + Leaseback Vehicle, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
