Job Details
- Oversee and direct the finance team
- Manage timely and accurate financial reporting for monthly and annual review in accordance with GAAP
- Manage timely and accurate job cost reporting and analysis
- Interpret & explain company financial statements
- Identify discrepancies and investigate root cause to implement efficiencies and processes to drive progressive improvement
- Function as a strategic partner for the General Manager
- Assist with building and maintaining KPI’s
- Develop and implements financial policies, procedures and work instructions while ensuring that internal controls are adequate
- Oversee payroll processes maintained by team providing technical knowledge and prevailing wage support
- Proactively manage working capital
- Manage all sales and use tax considerations and any out of state registrations
- Interpret and apply practices/procedures to align with state and federal guidelines
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality on all financial data
- Provide strong leadership with a positive can-do attitude and flexibility
- Manage above responsibilities for multiple entities
- Will be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work / education experience
- A minimum of five years of work experience including month end close and financial statement reporting.
- Experience in construction, manufacturing or transportation industries is a plus
- Experience in a multi-entity format is a plus

- High level of MS Excel capability is a must (V Lookups, Pivots, etc.) as well as proficiency in other Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) products
- Understanding and accurate application of general accounting principles and internal controls
- Thorough, in-depth knowledge of accounting standards to include customer invoicing, AR/AP management, account reconciliations, payroll, sales tax remittances, accrual account maintenance, balance sheet statements and financial statement preparation
- Capacity to manage your time effectively, self-starter
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively with customers, vendors, and individuals in multiple areas within the company and maintain confidentiality
