Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a key member of the leadership team of a high-volume, independent gastroenterology practice. The CFO will be responsible for the financial stewardship of the organization, including financial strategy, forecasting, cash flow management, and risk oversight. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare finance, the ability to partner with clinical and administrative leaders, and the skill to ensure the financial health and long-term sustainability of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the practice’s growth and operational goals.
- Provide the CEO and executive team with timely, accurate financial reports and analyses to support decision-making.
- Lead long-term financial planning, including modeling for growth, expansion, and capital investments.
- Financial Operations & Risk Management
- Co-manage day-to-day financial operations with the Business Operations Director, including cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and revenue cycle oversight.
- Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Assess, monitor, and mitigate financial risks to protect organizational stability.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and financial reporting requirements.
- Banking & Loan Management
- Maintain and strengthen banking relationships.
- Manage existing loans, monitor covenants, and oversee debt service.
- Negotiate financing arrangements to support growth and capital needs.
- Accounting & Audit Coordination
- Serve as one of the primary liaisons with the external accounting firm.
- Oversee audits, tax filings, and ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Implement best practices for internal financial controls.
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Create annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Provide department leaders with financial insights to support resource allocation and performance accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within healthcare or physician practice management.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycles, reimbursement, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in cash management, forecasting, loan management, and financial modeling.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, physician-led organization.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $145,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
