Controller/CFO
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Controller/CFO to oversee the financial operations of our electrical contracting business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and compliance while ensuring the company's financial health and growth. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of financial management within the construction or electrical contracting industry.
Must have a good understanding of construction and construction accounting
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards.
- Manage cash flow, financial risks, and cost control measures to optimize company performance.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate job costing and financial tracking.
- Develop and maintain relationships with banks, auditors, and financial institutions.
- Lead financial audits, tax planning, and corporate finance initiatives.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team on financial planning and business growth.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as a Controller, CFO, or Senior Financial Manager in the electrical contracting, construction industry or manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and industry-specific regulations.
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Foundation Accounting Software.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Experience with job costing, budgeting, and financial forecasting in a project-based environment.
