Position Synopsis
Our client, a Private Equity backed specialty food manufacturer, is searching for a Chief Financial Officer. This role reports to the Chief Executive Officer who partners well with other C level executives within this business. Org Chart will include a team that owns the company’s financial planning and analysis, standard cost accounting function, general ledger, financial reporting package utilized by investors, banking partner, and auditors. Your Controller runs a tight month-end close, has DSO and accounts receivable well under control and has a tenure accounts payable supervisor on their team. Your VP FP&A has a strong commercial finance background which helps you with your monthly trade spend analysis.
Job Duties
- As a trusted partner to the CEO, development and refine this company’s strategic goals while empowering your departments, co-leading board presentations, derive data driven decisions, and strive for operational excellence.
- Continue to build on strong corporate support center’s philosophy of strong internal customer service and produce reporting packages, KPIs, operational drivers that enhance visibility on performance.
- Support the growth of the business through skilled financial analysis of potential market segments, geography expansions, and other strategic time investments.
- Engage audit committee and board of directors in developing short term and strategic planning with our long game credo in mind.
- Encourage ongoing operational improvement, taking input from key functional process leaders, with a goal of developing processes, technology, and adding long lasting structural improvements.
- Collaborate closely with various team and departmental leads including inventory planning, manufacturing operations, supply chain, product development, and marketing.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with key financial partners including shareholders, board, consultants, vendors, and client base.
- With the necessary leadership and communication skills, the expected CFO must have the ability to give advice, provide a voice of reason, and always engage transparently with employees.
- Strategic Partner: Work closely with the CEO, Chief Marketing Officer, SVP of Sales, and VP FP&A to align financial strategy with business objectives and drive sustainable EBITDA growth
- Serve as the main point of contact for Private Equity Firm on all financial matters, providing timely, accurate reporting and analysis to support the fund's investment strategy.
- Provide financial oversight and capital expenditure (CapEx) analysis for a business model that relies on outsourced manufacturing as well as in-house manufacturing for other products that are better left produce within company
- Trade Spend Strategy will involve weekly communication with the SVP of Sales team to manage the company's Trade Spend
- System Consolidation: Lead the system integration of historical financial and accounting practices across the business, improved standard close procedures, migrate legacy ERP to NetSuite
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of progressive experience within a fast paced, high growth finance operations and/or accounting organization
- Use of collaborative and facilitative approach and the flexibility to work with broad range of cultures, personalities, and work styles
- 2+ years experience at Nutraceutical, Food, Beverage, or Specialty Consumer Goods
- M&A and PE experience preferred.
- Past experience in building highly efficient teams and bringing automation to finance departments
- Budgeting/Planning/Analytic Tool Environment experience such as Vena, Adaptive Insights, Host Analytics, OneStream, HFM, Alteryx, Tableau, or Anaplan all a plus
- If you have been successful working in a cloud-based ERP environment such as Acumatica, MS Dynamics 365 NetSuite, Oracle Fusion, SAP Cloud, or Intacct also a plus
