As we continue to scale our operations and expand into new markets, we seek a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial strategy, strengthen operational discipline, and support our long-term growth objectives.
Position Overview:
The CFO will serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, responsible for overseeing all financial, accounting, and risk management functions of the company. This individual will drive financial excellence, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across both the construction and manufacturing sides of the business.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in project-based financial management, manufacturing cost structures, and strategic capital planning—balancing short-term operational rigor with long-term enterprise growth. The candidate will also have experience in financing for mid-size acquisitions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key advisor to the CEO and executive team on financial strategy, business modeling, and capital structure.
- Develop and execute financial strategies that support the company’s growth, profitability, and sustainability goals.
- Partner with operations, manufacturing, and project management teams to optimize margins, cash flow, and project economics.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
- Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and analysis to drive performance and accountability across departments.
- Establish KPIs and dashboards to monitor performance across construction projects, manufacturing operations, and corporate functions.
- Oversee general accounting, job cost accounting, inventory management, and revenue recognition processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Strengthen internal controls, systems, and procedures to ensure accuracy, transparency, and efficiency.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support operational and growth initiatives.
- Develop, evaluate, and manage investor and banking relationships, credit facilities, and investment strategies.
- Support capital planning, equipment financing, and major capital projects.
- Partner with construction and manufacturing leaders to align financial processes with production and project lifecycles.
- Develop cost accounting systems for manufacturing and job costing for construction.
- Optimize pricing, procurement, and margin management through data-driven insights.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team to build a high-performing, forward-looking department.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Education & Experience:
- MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance role (CFO, VP Finance, or Controller).
- Experience in construction, manufacturing, or modular/offsite construction industries is strongly required.
- Proven success managing financial operations for companies between $50M–$300M in annual revenue.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of project-based accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing financial processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead financial strategy in complex, hybrid business environments.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in ERP and financial systems (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint Vista, NetSuite, or similar).
- Has led an ERP implementation and/or adoption
- Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making and process improvement.
