MedQuest Search Solutions, Inc., the nation's leading healthcare executive search firm is conducting a search for an experienced Chief Financial Officer for a large, profitable, 300-bed substance abuse program that offers detoxification and residential drug and alcohol treatment services to the men and women in rural Pennsylvania.

We are seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the executive leadership team. This role oversees all aspects of financial strategy and performance, supporting both operational excellence and long-term organizational success.
The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in healthcare financial management, particularly within behavioral health, substance use treatment, or hospital settings, and a passion for advancing patient-centered care through sound fiscal leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee all financial operations of the facility, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly financial statements and required corporate reports.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, audit readiness, and internal control compliance.
- Manage revenue cycle operations to maximize cash collections and minimize bad debt and denials.
- Collaborate with leadership to prepare annual operating and capital budgets, aligning financial planning with strategic goals.
- Maintain strong knowledge of federal, state, and managed care reimbursement methodologies.
- Supervise finance-related departments such as Accounting, Patient Accounting, Health Information Management, and Materials Management.
- Monitor purchasing activities to ensure cost efficiency and adherence to contracts.
- Provide proactive financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team in achieving both fiscal and operational goals.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of CFO or Controller experience in a healthcare setting required; behavioral health or Substance Abuse Disorder experience highly preferred.
- Expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong working knowledge of reimbursement methodologies and cost report processes.
- Proficiency with financial and productivity software, including Excel and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with high emotional intelligence and integrity.
- Proven financial analysis skills
- Hands-on, competition accountant
- Strong Revenue Cycle experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
