Job Title: Chief Financial Officer
Location: New York Metro Area (Hybrid)
Overview:
Gresham Executive is partnered with a leading private equity client in the search for a CFO for it's Behavioral Health portfolio company. The CFO will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, guiding the financial strategy and building the systems needed to support rapid expansion.
This leader will oversee all financial operations, develop forward looking insights, and drive disciplined execution across a multi site platform. The role calls for someone who understands the nuances of behavioral health while navigating the demands of a private equity environment.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy and Leadership: Own the long term financial plan and provide clear direction on growth, profitability, and capital needs.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop reliable forecasting models, lead annual budgeting, and ensure tight control over financial performance across regions.
- PE Partnership and Reporting: Manage board level reporting, lender relationships, and investor communications. Partner with the private equity team on value creation plans and exit preparation.
- Operational Finance: Strengthen revenue cycle processes, payor analytics, reimbursement insights, and clinic level P&L management.
- Mergers and Acquisitions: Support deal evaluation, financial diligence, integration planning, and post close performance tracking.
- Systems and Controls: Build scalable financial systems, internal controls, and data reporting to keep up with multi state expansion.
- Team Development: Lead and grow the finance and accounting teams, setting clear expectations and building a culture of accountability and partnership.
Qualifications:
- Prior CFO or VP of Finance level experience in behavioral health, multi site healthcare, or a related services environment.
- Successful track record in private equity backed companies, including experience with value creation plans, debt structures, and reporting requirements.
- Experience supporting a full exit cycle, including preparation, due diligence, data readiness, and investor or buyer engagement.
- Deep understanding of revenue cycle management, payer contracts, and behavioral health reimbursement.
- Hands on experience supporting de novo growth and multi state expansion.
- Experience with M&A, integration, and building financial systems for scale.
- Strong analytical skills, clear communication style, and an ability to work closely with clinical and operational leaders.
