Overview
Eadie’s Construction and Eadie’s Industrial are seeking a part-time, onsite Controller/CFO to strengthen financial operations, streamline accounting processes, and provide high-level financial leadership as the business continues to grow.
With roots dating back to 1989, Eadie’s is known for its strong work ethic, reliability, and industrial and municipal services including drain cleaning, vacuum operations, utility construction, environmental support, and specialty industrial services. Their reputation is built on long-term client relationships and a family-oriented atmosphere.
This position supports their next phase of growth by bringing clarity, structure, and strategic leadership to their financial operations, without requiring a full-time financial executive.
Position Summary
The part-time Controller/CFO will lead financial management for both Eadie’s Construction and Eadie’s Industrial. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical accounting skills, construction and job-costing knowledge, and the ability to partner closely with ownership to guide financial decisions.
You’ll manage accounting operations, build and optimize financial systems, prepare accurate reporting, monitor project profitability, and ensure the company’s financial actions support long-term stability. The onsite nature of the role allows you to work directly with leadership and operational staff to create efficient workflows and improve outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations: AP, AR, general ledger, bank reconciliations, job cost accounting, and month-end close.
- Create and maintain budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow management systems.
- Develop and deliver timely financial reports and dashboards for ownership.
- Monitor project/job profitability, cost-to-complete, margins, overhead allocation, and variance analysis.
- Strengthen internal controls and implement consistent accounting procedures.
- Coordinate payroll processes and ensure accurate labor allocation to jobs.
- Work directly with owners and project managers to improve financial visibility and decision-making.
- Maintain strong vendor, lender, and stakeholder relationships.
- Support capital planning, financing discussions, pricing strategies, and contract evaluations.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend practical, financially grounded improvements.
- Uphold accuracy, timeliness, and integrity in all financial reporting and documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, controllership, or financial leadership roles.
- Strong background in construction, industrial services, utilities, or project-based industries preferred.
- Expertise in job costing, cash flow management, and operational accounting.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and Excel (or equivalent tools).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with field teams, owners, and support staff.
- Ability to implement structure, improve financial processes, and work independently.
- Must be able to work onsite in Orangeburg 14–24 hours per week.
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $60–$100 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
- Schedule: 14–24 hours per week, onsite
- Type: Contract / Hourly
- Pay Frequency: Twice monthly via direct deposit
