The Role
We’re hiring a Chief Financial Officer to join our founding leadership team and help steer Passive into its next phase of growth. This executive will be both a strategic architect and an operational counterweight — partnering with the CEO and CTO to scale the business, shape financial systems, and guide the company through multiple rounds of venture financing.
This is not a maintenance role. It’s a build-from-zero role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, wants meaningful ownership, and sees the opportunity to create a generational consumer product in the Future of Work category.
What You’ll Own
Strategic Finance
- Build and own long-range financial models (consumer + B2B revenue streams).
- Drive fundraising strategy: deck architecture, investor targeting, due diligence prep, and negotiation.
- Partner with the CEO to define pricing strategy, capital allocation, and growth levers across B2C and B2B.
Operational Excellence
- Develop scalable financial systems, processes, and reporting infrastructure.
- Implement metrics and dashboards across user growth, retention, LTV/CAC, and marketplace economics.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash management with precision.
Risk, Compliance & Controls
- Build a finance function aligned with venture-scale standards.
- Ensure compliance with tax, audit, legal, and SOC-related financial requirements.
- Implement controls to support enterprise partnerships and future international expansion.
Leadership
- Serve as a core thought partner to the founding team.
- Build and lead the finance organization as the company scales.
- Influence product, pricing, and market strategy through data-backed insight.

What You Bring
- 8–15+ years in finance, ideally with startup or scale-up experience (CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent).
- Deep experience with venture fundraising, board reporting, and investor relations.
- Strong command of SaaS and consumer economics; marketplace experience is a plus.
- Comfort working in lean teams and owning high-impact decisions.
- A belief that the hiring landscape is broken — and the ambition to fix it.
