About The Role
We're looking for a
Chief Financial Officer (Controller & Operations) to join the Pinnacle Private Credit team and play a central role in our next stage of growth. This is an opportunity for a hands-on financial leader who enjoys building infrastructure, optimizing capital, and shaping how a high-growth private credit platform operates.
You'll partner directly with the executive team to drive financial strategy, strengthen internal operations, and ensure we're positioned for long-term, scalable success. If you thrive in a fast-moving, non-bureaucratic environment where execution matters as much as strategy, you'll love it here.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Financial Strategy & Capital Allocation
- Owning the firm's financial strategy, forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.
- Determining how and where to strategically deploy and invest firm capital to maximize returns and liquidity.
- Optimizing capital structure, funding strategies, and treasury positioning.
- Providing forward-looking financial insights to support growth and risk management.
Controller & Back-Office Leadership
- Overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Establishing and managing banking relationships, including setting up new bank accounts and maintaining institutional banking infrastructure.
- Managing treasury functions including wire transfers, ACH activity, liquidity management, and cash flow oversight.
- Overseeing payroll, vendor payments, reconciliations, and day-to-day financial operations.
- Implementing scalable systems, compliance processes, and financial controls to support rapid growth
Deal Execution & Portfolio Oversight
- Partnering with the investment team on underwriting, modeling, diligence, and credit decisions.
- Monitoring portfolio performance, capital deployment, and risk exposure.
- Supporting deal structuring and financial analysis across lending strategies.
Operational Strength & Team Leadership
- Building a strong financial foundation, systems, and reporting infrastructure.
- Leading accounting, treasury, compliance, and finance operations end-to-end.
- Developing and mentoring a high-performing finance team.
- Acting as a strategic thought partner to leadership, influencing major business decisions.
Who We're Looking For
- Executive-level finance experience within private credit, direct lending, private equity, fintech, or a comparable financial environment.
- Strong controller-level expertise with deep knowledge of accounting, treasury, cash management, and financial controls.
- Experience managing bank relationships, wire/ACH infrastructure, payroll, and operational finance functions.
- Strong exposure to credit, underwriting, and portfolio management.
- A builder's mindset, resourceful, hands-on, and comfortable operating in a lean environment.
- Clear communicator with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach.
Why You'll Love Working With Us
- Direct influence over the financial and operational trajectory of a growing direct lender.
- Autonomy to build and shape the finance function from the ground up.
- A team that values speed, transparency, and decisive execution.
- Competitive compensation and performance-based incentives.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of progressive finance experience.
- Strong analytical and capital allocation skills.
- CPA or MBA preferred but not required.
- Experience in private credit, structured finance, or cash-flow lending environments strongly preferred.
