Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Bellingham, WA
Employment Type: Full-Time, exempt.
Salary Range: $175,000–$215,000 total cash compensation (Base Salary + Bonuses).

Position Summary:
A dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is sought to lead the financial operations of a well-established, privately held company. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the CFO will oversee all financial and accounting activities, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, reporting, internal controls, and strategic planning.
This individual will be responsible for optimizing financial performance, driving process improvement, and ensuring operational alignment across multiple business units and entities. The ideal candidate brings a mix of strategic thinking, hands-on execution, and leadership experience in high-volume, multi-entity environments.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm, with occasional work outside of those hours if needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership
· Serve as a key member of the executive team, advising the CEO on strategic financial decisions.
· Provide financial analysis and forecasting to support growth initiatives for all aspects of operations.
· Develop and implement financial models, KPIs, and dashboards to drive business insights and performance improvements.
· Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support ongoing operations and capital investments.
Accounting Operations
· Oversee all accounting functions, including AR, AP, GL, inventory control, and financial reporting.
· Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings, including financial statement preparation.
· Prepare books and financial documentation for external accountants to file taxes for multiple business entities.
· Maintain integrity and accuracy of financial systems and records.
· Manage intercompany accounting and ensure accurate reporting across multiple LLCs/business entities.
Compliance & Financial Controls
· Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including tax, labor, and financial reporting requirements.
· Maintain all business licenses, permits, and registrations across all operational jurisdictions.
· Oversee internal controls, risk mitigation, and audit readiness.
· Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals.
Process Improvement & Technology
· Evaluate, implement, and optimize accounting and financial software tools and integrations.
· Lead process improvement initiatives to reduce inefficiencies and increase data accuracy and reporting speed.
· Promote automation, standardization, and Lean financial operations.
Leadership & Team Development
· Lead and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accuracy, and service.
· Establish a high-performing, service-oriented department that supports company goals.
· Provide mentorship and training opportunities to support team development and succession planning.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
· CPA and/or Master’s degree strongly preferred.
· Minimum 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
· Experience managing financial operations for multi-entity businesses (e.g., LLCs, consolidated financials).
· Strong cash flow management experience.
· Familiarity with high-transaction environments.
· Proficient with financial software and business tools, including Excel and Power BI; ERP experience is a plus.
· Demonstrated success in process improvement, change management, and financial transformation.
· Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making.
Physical Requirements:
· This role is primarily office-based and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
