This role serves as a critical link between senior management and the deal desk analysts, ensuring operational excellence and strategic alignment with a primary focus on Opportunity Validation and Booking Process Management.
What You'll Do: Opportunity Validation & Booking Process Management:
- Lead and manage a team of analysts responsible for opportunity validation and booking processes
- Oversee the comprehensive review and validation of all sales opportunities before booking
- Ensure team adherence to established validation criteria including pricing, discounting, terms, and conditions
- Drive the "Ready for Close Won" process, maintaining quality standards and compliance requirements
- Implement and enforce booking policies and procedures across the organization
- Serve as the escalation point for complex validation issues and approval exceptions
- Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Finance to resolve deal structure and booking challenges
- Monitor team performance metrics related to validation accuracy, booking cycle time, and error rates
- Develop and maintain validation checklists and documentation to ensure consistency
- Provide regular reporting on validation trends, booking volumes, and process bottlenecks
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline the validation and booking workflow
Sales Operations & Pipeline Management:
- Partner with Sales teams to maintain accurate opportunity pipeline data
- Analyze pipeline health and provide insights to leadership on conversion rates and forecast accuracy
- Support sales forecasting processes through data validation and analysis
- Identify pipeline risks and collaborate with Sales leadership on mitigation strategies
- Implement pipeline management best practices and train team members accordingly
- Develop reporting tools to provide visibility into pipeline status and booking trends
Team Leadership & Development:
- Drive team performance through data-driven coaching and mentorship
- Implement structured career development paths for team members
- Lead strategic workforce planning to optimize team structure and capabilities
- Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
- Conduct regular 1:1 check-ins with each team member
- Coach team members on development plans for areas requiring improvement
- Define individual team member quarterly training/development opportunities
- Oversee the onboarding of new team members, ensuring a successful experience
- Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments through standard CrowdStrike programs
- Nurture team member strengths while identifying areas for improvement
Operational Management:
- Monitor team performance and report on metrics as requested by leadership
- Assign team members to Deal Desk projects based on interest and aptitude
- Listen to team members' feedback and resolve issues or conflicts in a timely manner
- Represent and advocate for team needs to senior management
- Serve as a backup to senior deal desk managers as requested
- Step in to perform deal desk analyst responsibilities during peak periods or resource constraints
Strategic Initiatives:
- Foster creativity and encourage input on process/program innovation aligned with corporate growth
- Problem-solve with team members on key business issues, working collaboratively toward solutions
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to align Deal Desk operations with broader organizational goals
- Identify opportunities for automation and technology enhancements within the Deal Desk function
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree
- 8-10 years of relevant experience, including 3+ years in team leadership roles
- Strong expertise in leading Opportunity Validation and Booking processes teams
- Demonstrated experience in managing validation workflows and booking procedures
- Prior experience in Deal Desk, Order Management, or similar function
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams
- Strong understanding of sales operations and order processing workflows
- Advanced knowledge of Salesforce.com and Tableau
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a high-growth technology environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cybersecurity or SaaS industry
- Knowledge of Order To Cash process
- Experience managing remote or global teams
- Project management certification or experience
- Change management experience
